Sunday 27th…”phew what a scorcher!”

dscn2274-copy.JPG                   ’ U scream ,I scream, we all scream for Ice Cream’ …We rode out and back to support the many heroic cyclists braving the glorious blistering heat beating down on the London to Cambridge. Hats off to the Posties cycling on post office issue bikes as well as the many other participants. One observation we made was that  Considering the number of first timers struggling to remain hydrated ,the profit making promoters  Bike Events should have provided more water stations along the route.

” I can’t see any ******* dreamy Spires”

The above comment was heard spoken as we closed in on Oxford after a strong 80 plus mile head wind  battering!  against that wind we covered 91 miles in the saddle for 7hrs 25mins.   For the return trip we clocked 85.6 miles (to Newnham) in 6hrs 5 mins. it was great company , despite Ians snoring like a pneumatic drill all night and a total of four punctures, Nigel 3 ,Ian 1.             dscn2241.JPG  dscn2220.JPGdscn2225.JPGdscn2226.JPG dscn2227.JPGdscn2240.JPG     dscn2239.JPGdscn2252.JPG
